Challenges for Automotive Supply Chains

One Problem Becomes a Thousand Problems

Without strong automotive supply chain management, a single missing part can freeze production. Delays compound, leading to missed deadlines and idle teams. Real-time visibility across suppliers and shipments keeps every component arriving in the right order, so lines don’t sit idle.

Tight Deadlines Leave No Room for Error

A single delayed part can shut down an entire line, creating costly downtime and missed deadlines. To consistently deliver shipments on time, we design flexible operations that meet the strict demands of automotive manufacturing.

Fragile Parts Are High-Maintenance

Heavy or delicate components can’t be rushed in auto parts fulfillment. Poor handling causes damage, delays, and lost trust. Protect sensitive parts with trained handling and custom packaging that prevent waste and protect shipments.

Demand Swings Throw Off Planning

Sudden order changes can flood warehouses one week and empty them the next. Without flexible capacity, costs spike and fulfillment falls behind. Balance inventory with dynamic forecasting and adjustable storage so the right parts are available at the right time.

One Size Never Fits All

Standard logistics plans don’t match the realities of automotive production. We design custom routing and storage plans that flex with model changes and evolving production cycles.

Limited Space Chokes Efficiency

When warehouses reach capacity, parts pile up and productivity drops. Scalable storage designed around production flow keeps space organized, costs down, and production moving without interruption.

Electric Vehicle (EV) deployment in Southern California

Legacy led a pilot project for Electric Vehicles in Southern California with a leading electrical supply product distributor. The pilot’s objective was to determine if EV deployment was a viable, sustainable solution for shorter, local routes and deliveries in and around Southern California.

Today, Legacy and the client operate four 24 ft. BrightDrop Zevo 600 fleet units.  They are also currently testing two 16 ft. flatbeds.

Results:

  1. $1,160 Monthly Diesel Fuel Savings (estimated)
  2. Compliance with WAIRE (The Warehouse Actions and Investments to Reduce Emissions) Program in California
  3. Dramatic reduction in carbon emissions
  4. Improved safety with modern fleet technology (360 degree cameras, collision avoidance systems
